This project is about tension. The tension between heavy and light, between opaque and transparent, between solid materials and delicate meshes that envelop a volume made of nothing.
Solid stone walls lift the white cube, which defines the space beneath it. This space is outlined below, between the stone walls and the aluminium glass panels. A minimum aimed at achieving a maximum. And outside — even less, almost as little as possible — the pergola’s mesh screens enclose an “emptiness” between them. And once again, underneath, a space that is only “indicated,” suspended between the meshes and the ground.
