Tension

This project is about tension: the tension between heavy and light, opaque and transparent, solid materials and delicate meshes that enclose a volume made almost entirely of air.

Solid stone walls support a white cube, defining the space beneath it. This space is formed through the relationship between the stone walls and the aluminium-framed glass panels.

A minimum intended to achieve a maximum.

Outside, the intervention becomes even lighter. The pergola’s mesh screens enclose an almost empty volume, creating a space that is merely suggested rather than fully defined. Suspended between the screens and the ground, it exists through boundaries that are present but barely visible.

הפרויקט עוסק במתח שבין כבד לקל, בין אטום לשקוף, ובין חומרים מסיביים לרשתות עדינות העוטפות נפח שכמעט כולו אוויר.

קירות אבן מוצקים נושאים קובייה לבנה ומגדירים את החלל שמתחתיה, יחד עם משטחי זכוכית במסגרות אלומיניום. מינימום של אמצעים יוצר מקסימום של נוכחות.

בחוץ ההתערבות נעשית קלה עוד יותר: רשתות הפרגולה מרמזות על חלל כמעט ריק, שגבולותיו קיימים אך כמעט בלתי נראים.
