Dissolving concrete

This new residential building in Tel Aviv creates a direct connection with the exposed raw concrete architecture of Brutalism, while interpreting it in new and unexpected ways.

Using OSB panels as formwork for the white concrete creates a surface that feels both rough and refined, old and new, linear and angular. The restrained material palette is complemented by perforated metal sheets used for the railings, adding lightness, texture and depth.

This is a residential building that pays homage to what came before while defining what architecture is, and what it can become.
