Opaque?

At first glance, it is opaque. Perhaps even too opaque.

At second glance, once the eye adjusts, the cracks begin to appear. Suddenly, between the wooden slats, a narrow opening is revealed. Through it, one can look in, with a measured, deliberate gaze. And then another.

And when you move slightly, to the right or to the left, a few more of these openings appear. The opaque wooden wall reveals itself to be more complex than it first seemed. Parts of it are indeed closed, but other parts allow for a precise view, from outside in and from inside out.

And as you move around it, from the front garden to the rear one, the proportions change dramatically. They reverse. Entire facades become transparent, merging the interior with the garden. Connecting them. The opacity facing the street enables the openness at the back.

Balance, proportion, harmony.
