Therapeutic pool in Sheba hospital
Some projects are measured in square metres. Others are measured in lives.
The therapeutic pool at Sheba Medical Center was designed to support rehabilitation, recovery and daily treatment for people facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Since the most recent war, the facility has served thousands of injured patients. For many of them, water offers something that is difficult to find elsewhere: movement without full weight, freedom without risk, and a temporary sense that the body can once again do what it used to do.
The project focused on creating a more accessible, functional and supportive environment for both patients and the medical teams working with them. Every decision was guided by the need to improve comfort, safety, movement and the overall quality of care.
The response from the staff has been deeply meaningful. They have expressed great gratitude for the substantial improvement in the quality of the facility and in the treatment it allows them to provide.
The success of the project has already led to the planning of an additional expansion.
Sometimes architecture does not need to speak loudly. It simply needs to make healing a little easier.
