Windowsill

The bulldozers are warming up their engines, and with them will come the dust, noise, and concrete. Shortly after they leave the construction site, the welders will arrive. They will become the main players in this house, responsible for creating a 25-meter-long “window library” made of black steel and extending across the entire first floor.

The design was inspired by the deep windowsills of old Jaffa and Provence—the kind of windowsills that might hold a candle, a book, or perhaps an apple. This library is designed to do exactly that.

Beyond the timeless connection between indoors and outdoors created by every window, this project takes the idea one step further.

With its deep sills, the “window library” frames small moments of everyday life against the striking backdrop of the blue sky.

הפרויקט נולד מתוך רעיון של "ספריית חלונות" באורך 25 מטרים, העשויה פלדה שחורה ונמשכת לאורך הקומה הראשונה כולה.

ההשראה הגיעה מאדני החלונות העמוקים של יפו העתיקה ופרובאנס - מקומות קטנים שמחזיקים נר, ספר או פרי, ומחברים בין חיי היומיום לבין הנוף שבחוץ.

הספרייה יוצרת סדרה של מסגרות עמוקות הפונות אל השמיים. כל אחת מהן הופכת רגע פשוט בבית לתמונה קטנה, על רקע הכחול הפתוח.
