Nest of Light

A design proposal for a private house interior design. The design called to connect the indoor with outdoor, creating views and using a natural, calming material palette.

The large living space on the ground floor is divided by the wooden latticed library into several areas. By using the library as a spatial separator we can create a collection of lounges and multiple sitting zones and arrangements. Thus, different activities can happen in the same floor without interfering each other. The large glass panels make for a façade that is not just looked at but looked through.

The bedroom is surrouned on 2 sides by oak panels warming up the space. The panels serve as the foundation for the corten steel wall-hung desk and shelves, as well as hide the room’s entry door and bathroom door, and the closets.
