OKP

In Jerusalem, it is impossible to eat humus without it involving a story as well as it is not possible to buy a building without receiving a history lesson. Old Katamon Place was born more than 100 years before we were born. At first there were 2 arab villas. One of them overlooking the road and the other overlooking the donkeys path behind. Back to back. After that, the Jordanians arrived and the building were rented to the rich men of the city and grew bigger and bigger. After the war, Israeli citizens arrived and those buildings were combined into one building. A few years later, the Israeli secret services bought the building and extended the building using it for their needs for decades.

The building's history was impossible to ignore. Although we added a wide extend of floors and functions we worked very hard on maintaining the building's character and authenticity. 8 very spacious apartments were designed. Each occupying half a floor. Each apartment has a front wide façade. Modern infrastructures were planned, new floors were designed, and a new staircase holding a Bauhaus vertical window stretches over the building. Keeping the unique location in mind, every apartment was designed with a modern yet local Jerusalem feel.
